53 Clipper emergency brake hardware

Post by akluender » Tue Apr 17, 2018 2:55 am

Does anyone know the Bendix part numbers, or a source, for the emergency brake levers (1 vertical and 1 horizontal) inside the rear drums on a '53 Clipper? I can order new e-brake cables, but the lever hardware (and springs & clips) are missing from the Clipper I recently purchased. Service brakes work OK, but it would be nice (& safer) to have parking brake capabilities. Thanks in advance.

I believe the parts you are looking for were used on all 1948-54 Packards (not including commercial vehicles). I'd try Kanter and/or Max Merritt. I'm assuming you are looking for Group 1.414 and 1.415.

Another possible source would be Bob Stoltzfus of Bob's Packard Parts in Marietta, PA, phone 717-426-1446.
