1929 626 Brake cables

Post by dzw0fb » Fri Feb 11, 2011 4:35 pm

Does anyone know a good source for new brake cables for a 626 model 333? The 80+ year old cables on mine look O.K. but would like to replace them for peace of mind! Thanks!

You might check with both Kanters and Max Merritt. A few years ago I bought a replacement cable for a slightly later Packard from Merritt. Also Hibernia Restorations in NJ, formerly owned by Bob Turnquist, was a standard source for mechanical brake cables for many, many years. Don't know if they are still in that business.

If you have no success locally, these people will make them to pattern for you. Well established business over here and excellent service.

I should think the shipping wouldn`t be too expensive on a set of brake cables.
