The way the Clipper jerked on starting probably the driver let off the gas. It is a Chevy commercial after all and it's not like truth in advertising laws existed or were paid much attention to back then. They might have had it out for Packard that day because at about 1:33 it looks like the "crazy driver" was in an earlier model -- a 51 I think. Sad as it is to say the Chevy buyer probably made a good decision. Expect the Clipper cost more to buy but I'd almost bet the Chevy would have been worth twice as much on trade in a year later.
