V8 Packards using a torqueflight trnny

Over the years I've seen several folks advertising various setup kits to convert the mid 50s Packards(55-56 mostly)
to a Chrysler torqueflight (727) instead of the Ultramatic. "They" say it is a much more reliable unit--which
has over-the-counter parts availabilty. While I havent done so on my V8s; I am wondering --what experience
have othr members had making this change? Is it an easy swap? How does it perform in a Packard? & are
the offered "kits" excessive in price?--if you would be better off either staying with the Ultramatic or
doing your own mounting & fitting changes. I would like to hear someones history with installation & use.

Bendtsen Transmissions installed a 700R4 in our 55 400. Very nice job. I was not sold on the torqueflight set up. Bendtsen is also knowledgable in the ultramatics, if one needs their's rebuilt.
