Origin of 1946 Clipper 6
I now own a 1946 Clipper 6 that was purchased by my brother in 1977, and has been repaired/renovated by him, another brother, and me over the years. We think he may have bought it from the grandson of the original owner, but that trail is pretty foggy by now. The original data plate shows "STATE MOTOR COMPANY" as the dealer. The city is irretrievably obscured. We're pretty sure the car has a history in Wenatchee, Washington; so an Eastern Washington location would make the most logical sense. Do you have any information on a dealership of that name in Eastern Washington, or nearby? Thanks.

Hi Stan, and welcome!
My dealership list closest to the year of your vehicle is 1939; Packard had two factory branches in Washington, the Packard Seattle Co. and the Packard Spokane Co. I've checked all the various dealerships that were serviced by them and sorry to say, find no listing for a State Motor Company.

G'day Stan,
Over on the PackardInfo Website there's a list of Packard dealership but unfortunately not the one you mention. However there are 2 listed for Wenatchee, maybe it's one of those. Here's a link http://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modul ... =&pos=3200 to the Washington page, hope it works.
